Vanity Fair Helps Me With “Exploiting My Baby”

How about a reason to buy my book on Wednesday, January 3rd? Vanity Fair just named it one of their HOT PICKS for 2011. Now me and Depp have even more in common.

Hmmmm? What? Sorry, I didn’t read that post because HELLO!?? Johnny Depp is a wee bit distracting to these eyes.

Oh Johnny… My one celeb crush. Truly.

    You were saying?

Had a bout of insomnia around 2:30am and downloaded your book thanks to Adam’s reminder tweet. I’m not nor have I ever been pregnant (okay not telling anyone I know yet…we just started trying this month!) but I followed your blog during your pregnancy and was just as excited for the book–fan since the morning show. Your writing is so witty and funny this book shouldn’t be lumped in with all the “pregnancy” books, it’s just a plain funny memoir. I loved your description of hating “great sleepers”. My husband can fall asleep in minutes…any time he lays down…and stay there for 10+ hrs. He can’t understand how I can’t just take a nap when I’m tired. I’ve never been able to articulate what goes on in my head with thoughts spinning, you put it so perfectly! I’m so happy for you and wish you happiness and success!

Amazon just notified me that they’ve shipped your book to me. I can’t wait to start reading it. But this happy news also brings back up the sad: I miss you, Teresa.

I loved you on the Adam Carolla podcast. Your humor, intelligence, and openness elevated Adam’s solipsistic shtick to true comedy. Since you’ve been gone, the podcast has become more one-dimensional and repetitive.

I hope to see and hear you again in a project that uses all your talents. Until then, keep writing, and I’ll keep reading.

Already done the pre order for the wife for Christmas. However, being as literate as Adam, I’m waiting for the audible version.

Are there audio production plans T?

That’s so exciting, Teresa! I already pre-ordered it at Amazon a long time ago so hopefully I’ll be receiving it soon!

I’ve always enjoyed listening to your personal and on the Carolla podcast as well as reading the articles that you’ve published. I let out a little squee of joy when you were a guest on his show recently. I look forward to reading your book when it is released, and I admit I marked the date so I can purchase it the day it’s released. Your writing is very insightful and reflective. I can’t wait to read it, and I wish you and your family the best for 2011. Thank you.

Now you can say that the hottest things of 2011 are Johnny Depp and Teresa Strasser. Woot. :-)

It would have been comedy gold if they put you and The Situation in as the best authors of 2010-2011. Ah well.
