Hi T. I’ve missed the “almost live” shows. Are you coming back soon?
I’m writing about your post “Me Trying to Avoid Lame Book/Baby Metaphors.” I want to let you know that I have a six year old girl who, at 6 months, was the same way as Buster is; always needing to be moved around, needing a change of scene, something. I too spent my days off (I worked three days a week) juggling her around. I can see from your picture that you have a front carrier. I can’t tell you how much that thing meant to me in my daughter’s early life. I used to drop her in that Snuggie and walk around downtown with her facing out. The result, and I really do believe that this helped shape her super happy, friendly personality, was that we got to know many people around town because almost everybody smiled at her and stopped to tell me how cute she was. My adorable daughter must have been able to understand because she just delighted in being told how beautiful she was (what girl doesn’t?). Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your post on this topic because it brought back some great memories of those early days. I am going to give you some unsolicited advice here: You need to savor these months before Buster is walking, well, running actually, if he is like my daughter. That kid took one step on her first birthday and it was off to the frickin’ races. She would literally hit the ground running first thing out of the crib in the morning. To this day, I’m not sure she knows how to walk; she runs – period. I used to have to chase her through crosswalks, parking lots, everywhere – and that little sucker was fast! So enjoy this time when you can put Buster someplace and be relatively sure he is going to stay there, at least for a few minutes. In about six more months, you are going to be playing “Buster! Stop! – Buster! Come back here!” And that game doesn’t end – ever.

I am looking forward to reading your book. I love your writing style. It’s witty, funny and honest.

Best, Jeaneene Tringali (long time fan of yours and Adam’s)
